AIM
Institute's Computer Training Facility is located at 412 S. 19th Street in
downtown Omaha. The training lab is located on the EAST SIDE of
the Omaha Exchange Building on 19th Street south of Harney Street and is handicap-accessible. Look for the barber shop
next door, the large sign above the door, and the Mac Classic doorstop!
Parking: If you are attending an event at the AIM Training Facility during daytime business hours, you may either park on the street at the meters or at a nearby parking garage. If you choose to park at the meters, select a meter with a blue pole for long-term parking. Those meters will grant up to 10 hours of parking, but they only accept quarters. A less expensive alternative is to park in the parking garage on the northwest corner of 19th & Harney. The parking garage is directly across the street from AIM's main office and costs approximately $6 for a full day of parking. If you are attending an event at AIM's Training Facility in the evening, you may park on the street at any of the meters at no charge after 5 PM.
Meals: We will break for meals at instructor discretion around the noon hour. There are many nearby establishments available within walking distance. Your instructor will also be able to provide suggestions. If you choose to bring your meal, a refrigerator and microwave are available for your use.
Wireless Internet: Our lab is equipped with a wireless network for your convenience. You are welcome to bring your own laptop to training sessions. Your instructor will provide a password to allow you to access our closed network. We also have desktop computers available for internet access. Our lab features dual-booting Linux and Windows XP Pro workstations, Mac OS X laptops, an interactive smart board, and dual ceiling-mounted projectors for maximum instructional effectiveness.
