AIM and Business Leaders to Launch IT Leadership Academy
As
today's IT managers increasingly deal with the challenges of global
competition and a changing workforce, effective management and
leadership skills are needed more than ever. To address this growing
need, the AIM Institute and its business members have collaborated to
create an annual IT Leadership Academy. The goal of the academy
organizers is to prepare IT managers to more fully leverage the talents
and contributions of the local IT workforce and maximize its

series of monthly day-long, issues-oriented seminars from September

New AIM Research Focuses on the Role of IT in Change Management
As
an organization's core
business processes become increasingly integrated through information
technology, the successful management of change
whether it results from business, social, regulatory, or technological
forces requires a blend of IT and business expertise. AIM's
latest
research effort surveyed the IT departments of 21 large highly integrated
Omaha firms to obtain a better understanding of the roles IT
departments play in managing change and what that says about

HRAM/Careerlink.com Career Expo Coming in August
It's
time for employers to register for a booth at the
annual HRAM/Careerlink.com Career Expo to be held at the Scott
Conference
Center on Aug. 6th. Helpful workshops and
AIM's
Cyber Cafe will be offered this year along with the ever-popular free
resume critiquing service. The fair is open to all types of companies
and job categories. Based on surveys filled out
by more than 500 job seekers who attended last year, the
career
fair attracts a
solid assortment of seasoned, skilled applicants. Exhibitors will also

Young Entrepreneur Wins National Cisco Award for Giving Back to Bellevue West High
Congratulations
to Bellevue West High School graduate and entrepreneur Cory
Becker for winning a
national Cisco Networking Academy award. The award is the latest in a
string of accolades for the 2007 graduate, who within the last year has
launched his own company while attending his freshman year in college,
yet he still has found time to give back to his community.

would employ students
involved in the Future Business Leaders of America club. The Bellevue

Careerlink.com Introduces Talent Mix
The AIM
Institute and Careerlink.com launched Talent Mix at the KANEKO on July
8th. The quarterly social networking event is designed for human
resource,
recruiting and marketing professionals interested in learning more
about attracting and retaining top-notch talent. Jason Davis, founder
of Recruitingblogs.com
and prolific online recruiting blogger, provided an informal
introduction
into social networking, blogging and using the Internet to attract

Strategies for Time-Challenged IT Leaders Offered at AIM Members Forum
Gwen Walsh of Ouellette & Associates presented an engaging, interactive executive briefing at the June 23rd AIM Members Forum. Walsh's presentation provided sketches of IT leaders who find themselves with no time to think and plan, meet with customers, or coach their staff and how these leadership omissions lead to dysfunctional organizations that can ultimately lose their top performers and their clients' business.
